By using culturally relevant comic books with characters of color, Comics at the Corner aims to provide residents within the Buckeye, Mt. Pleasant and surrounding neighborhoods with accessible and engaging forms of literature to help improve literacy rates in Cleveland, Ohio.

Local Drop-Off

To meet people where they are, we offer local delivery of free comics to businesses and organizations such as barber shops, beauty shops, laundromats, etc.

 As of 2001, about 87% of adults in the U.S. possessed basic literacy skills to understand and engage with written information effectively.

The Mt. Pleasant neighborhood has the city of Cleveland’s lowest literacy rate, at around 10-15%.
